The first thing you can do as a home remedy for dry skin is to avoid using soaps or face washes containing harsh elements and potential factors to damage the natural oil which protects your body.

Maintain a proper water intake in your body. Drink almost 10 glass of water daily and avoid drinking cold water.

Longer exposure to the sun or harsh weather will cause dry skin syndrome. Hence the patient are advised to wear gloves whenever going outside during winter season.

Give your skin the best possible protection from sun and pollution. Apply sunscreen lotion on your face so as to save it from ultraviolet rays of the sun.

Take a half tablespoonful of honey and mix it with 1-2 tablespoonful of rose water. Apply the mixture gently on the face, neck and other vulnerable dry skin areas. Let the mixture soak into the body for almost 20 min. Rinse your face with lukewarm water.

An oil massage is also effective and long standing home remedy for dry skin. Follow a course of regular massage of your body and face with olive or coconut oil. This will also help proper blood circulation in the body making it radiant and glow.

Junk foods are also responsible for causing dry skin disorders. If you are regular or frequent user of such types of food stuffs, avoid it right away. Instead have foods enriched with vitamins, fiber, minerals and proteins. They will help you overcome the dry skin disorders. Some laxatives enriched with vitamin A and B should be included in your dietary routine.

The home remedy for dry skin mentioned above does not have any side effect and can be used whenever the problem becomes sore or irritable.
